Rooted and Growing: Living Daily in Christ (Bible Study)

Colossians 2:6–7

"So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness."

Coming to faith in Christ is only the beginning. Paul reminds us that the same way we received Jesus—with humility, surrender, and faith—is the same way we are called to live each day. It’s not a one-time decision, but a daily walk of abiding, growing, and trusting in Him.

To be rooted in Christ means to have deep spiritual foundations—our identity, hope, and direction anchored in Him. Like a tree planted by living waters, we are called to draw our strength from Him, letting His truth and love shape every part of us. Being built up means we are in process: constantly learning, maturing, and becoming more like Christ. Faith isn’t stagnant—it grows stronger the more we live it.

A grateful heart is evidence of a soul grounded in grace. When we reflect on what Jesus has done, how He sustains us daily, and the promise of eternity, gratitude should naturally pour out of us. Let this verse be a call to walk steadily, grow deeply, and live thankfully in Christ today.
